Donors

We are incredibly grateful for YOU and for our other SOAR donors.  Without your support, we wouldn't be able to change lives and provide a future of abilities and success for individuals with special needs.

The needs are great, but we're convinced that our community is up for the challenge.

Here are the projects that are critically important for who we are, what we do, and where we are headed into the future:

As we have become an independent organization, we need to gain some additional resources.  Included in our immediate "needs" list are:

  • Storage facility to hold our equipment and resources
  • Funds for 2-3 staff members, as well as office overhead expenses (phone, power, Internet, etc.)

We have a lot more to do, however.  Here are our short-term initiatives and projects:

Most individuals with special needs want to be a part of the marketplace and to have a job.  In response, we are actively developing and raising funds for an adult job training center within the next 3-5 years.

Many of these same individuals want to have their own place that they can call “home” where they can have an independent life and are able to take care of themselves.  In response, we are working on the plans and raising funds to build a facility that provides adult housing and assisted living resources within the next 5-10 years.

Some families with special needs are in a situation where they need an extended break.  In response, we will provide a facility that offers a 12-hour respite from Monday-Thursday, and a 48-hour respite on the weekends.  This project will be completed in the next 3-5 years.

Many communities and churches, both in the US and Canada and also around the world, have asked for our help to show them how to offer effective resources and services for individuals and families with special needs.  Currently we serve over 400 churches, with an additional 200 churches looking to join our community.  In response, we will be hosting regional conferences and events, international conferences, and “road trips” where we teach and introduce our resources around the world.

Do any of these projects gain your interest?  More importantly, do any of these projects grab your heart?

If so, we would love to meet with you.  Contact us at donors@soarspecialneeds.org or call (816) 782-SOAR (7627).

Additionally, we would love to meet with your friends, co-workers and anyone else you know would be interested in being a part of this impactful organization!

Whether large or small, every donation is important and changes lives.  Will your SOAR with us?
