SOAR's annual prom is a magical evening where individuals with special needs of all ages can experience the joy, glamour, and excitement of prom night - complete with music, dancing, dinner, and unforgettable photo opportunities.

Important Information
Attendance Requirements:
Each participant with special needs must be accompanied by at least one person (parent, caregiver, friend, or date)
No 1:1 buddies will be provided at this event
Accompanying individuals are responsible for the participant they attend with
All attendees (participants and companions) must purchase tickets
Dress Code:
Prom attire encouraged but not required! Come in your finest formal wear, a favorite outfit, or whatever makes you feel special. The goal is celebration and joy.

Photo Consent
Please submit a photo consent form by April 20th if you're comfortable with SOAR photographing and sharing images from the event. Forms will be provided upon ticket purchase.

Who Should Attend?
Participants:
Individuals with special needs of ANY age - kids, teens, young adults, middle-aged adults, and seniors are all welcome. All diagnoses and support levels accommodated.
Companions:
Parents, siblings, caregivers, friends, or dates - anyone who wants to celebrate alongside the participant.
Why Prom Matters:
Many individuals with special needs never get to experience traditional school dances due to:
Overwhelming sensory environments
Social challenges

Age limitations (aging out of school)
SOAR Prom changes that. This is a judgment-free, fully accessible celebration where everyone can experience the joy of getting dressed up, dancing with friends, and creating beautiful memories.

Absolutely! Our oldest attendees are often in their 60s and 70s. Prom is for EVERYONE with special needs who wants to celebrate.

No - each participant must be accompanied by at least one person who is responsible for them throughout the event. This is not a drop-off event.

We provide quiet spaces for breaks, keep music at moderate levels with breaks, and train staff in supporting sensory needs. Many attendees with sensory challenges have wonderful experiences at SOAR Prom.
